Ash and Oak Weddings is located just outside of Indianapolis and was the perfect setting for Nate and Emily’s September wedding. The forecast wasn’t looking good, but the rain held off! We were blessed with an overcast, light and airy day to celebrate these two lovebirds becoming husband and wife.

Nate is a also a photographer and Emily is an interior designer. Together, they had a very specific idea in mind for what they wanted in their wedding photos. When we met over Zoom, we connected instantly! They explained that they had been looking for a long time, but made it clear that their search was over. They had found their wedding photographer in me!

We immediately got to work scheduling their engagement photos. Getting to know these two and hearing their love story just made me that much more excited for their wedding day. Their love is so evident in every single photo. Nate’s natural habits as a photographer also made my job of capturing their love so easy!

On their wedding day, the rain seemed to be imminent. It also appeared to be delayed just enough for a few photos outside. We managed to get all of the photos plus some without it raining! It wasn’t until after the reception started did it start pouring. There was a break in the rain for us to grab some overcast sunset photos, and then it resumed again until the sendoff. Seriously, we couldn’t have timed it any better!

The lightly overcast skies always make it so easy to get light and airy photos. Besides stressing a little about the rain, their wedding day couldn’t have gone any better! The humidity made Nate’s hair a bit uncooperative, but it wasn’t anything some paper towels and a fan couldn’t take care of. That also made way for some entertaining moments.
