This sweet crew met me at Holcomb Gardens in Indianapolis for their fall family photos this year! Man, this place was bustling with all sorts of photo sessions. The colors were gorgeous and there were so many great photo spots! Holcomb Gardens is on the campus of Butler University, so it’s kind of a hidden gem, except it’s not so hidden to most photographers.

There is so much personality in the Shaw family but they did a great job of smiling well for some great family photos. Of course, we had to let them show off their personalities throughout our time together for the silly photos. The sun was shining and it wasn’t too cold as we walked over the bridge and back again. Then over to the pond by the bell tower and back again. I loved having this family in front of my camera and I love how their fall family photos turned out!

I have to point out that I particularly love extended family photos because I get to witness just how vast the love of one couple can go and the impact it can have. Even though the photos are a little more structured and “posed” than a regular family session, they are the timeless photos that will live on for generations. If you’re on the fence, just do it!
