If you’re from the Midwest, then you know that the University of Notre Dame is a special place and great for photos, so you can imagine my excitement when these two wanted their engagement pictures taken there!

Ben & Kayla are from Illinois and are getting married up in the SMOKY MOUNTAINS in early October. Then I’ll be joining them as their photographer to help them celebrate with a big reception at the end of October at The Blue Teal in Northern Indiana!

I’ve had the honor of taking their engagement pictures not once, but TWICE! Our original scheduled photo session in Fort Wayne got rained out half way through but we still tried to get some good ones so that their trip wasn’t completely wasted! We decided to go ahead and schedule a second session since most of their first once was ruined by rain, and I’m SO GLAD we did!!

The sun really worked in our favor and we got much better results than our first attempt with the rain! There was hardly anybody on campus while we walked around and these two were SO EASY to work with! I can’t wait to hang out with them again next month!

Side note: you can make photos in the rain work, and we did to a point, but if that’s not the vibe you’re looking for (and it really wasn’t for these two), then we won’t waste our time with it!
